A BIT OF BACKGROUND

We are Bella Vista Collies, a small, responsible hobby breeder of genetically healthy, pedigreed Rough Collies.

Our journey began in 2000 with the ownership through adoption of a female sable collie through our local Humane Society. Princess was sweet, stunning, and protective of our children. I had always loved collies from the Albert Payson Terhune novels but having the love and devotion of a true companion is the best gift of all! We fell in complete adoration of the breed. Since then we have known so much love, joy, and excitement!

Through time and collie research, we understand the value of the breed and breed standards. We strive for our Collies to exhibit those standards through stature, beauty, good temperament, and intelligence characteristic of the Collie breed, as displayed by the widely known Collie, Lassie. And that is why we take pride in the fact that our puppies are shown affection and socialized in our home to give them familiarity with daily activities and boundaries. That foundation is the precursor to bettering the breed!
